This new site has been established in response to recent New York State legislation requiring towns with populations of 1,500 or more to maintain a verified .GOV domain. Because .GOV domains undergo strict verification, residents can trust that the information and links provided here are authentic, secure, and directly from their local government. This domain also makes it easier for the public to quickly recognize official government communications.

In accordance with state law, this website will include:

The Town will also continue to maintain its longstanding website at www.amherst.ny.us, which has served our community for over 25 years. That site will remain a comprehensive resource, featuring not only the information listed above but also details about elected officials, departments and services, local projects, community news, and much more.
